What to do in Venice When it Rains

Beautiful buildings surrounded by watery canals makes Venice a beautiful city worth visiting at least once. If you want to beat the crowds I recommend going in November. However, in order to beat the crowd you run the risk of inclement weather during your stay. Which is what happened to us in Venice.

Rainy, windy, and cold, never make good conditions to explore a new city. But that is travel, having to make the most of the situation you are given. After spending several hours researching in a cozy cafe. We decided to enjoy an opera instead of going to Burano. Considering the very first opera originated in Italy in the late 17th century it seemed fitting to go to one while in Venice.

We found tickets to I Musici Veneziani opera. Not an official opera, but it is an array of different musicians performing classical opera songs from the 18th-century. Located in the charming Scuola Grande di San Teodoro which gives this performance an intimate setting and beautiful acoustics.

I was blown away by the performances and the talented musicians. I am not one to be naturally drawn to musical talent, but this one was so well played out, the hour and half flew by and we enjoyed every minute.

If you find yourself in Venice, even if it is not raining I would highly recommend the I Musici Veneziani Concert in Venice. You can buy the tickets on Viator or directly on their website.

Hope you enjoy your evening as much as we did!
