Underrated Items to Pack

Underrated Items to Pack

You know when you’re packing and at the last minute you decide to throw something into your pack and come to find out, you used that item way more than expected. Well that’s what this list is like, we found out there are a couple of items in our pack that we ended up using way more than we expected and made our experience more enjoyable. So before you zip up your bag, think about some of these items and if you want to add them to your pack.

Ear Plugs

These are seriously a game changer. If you are staying at a hostel, have noisy neighbors, or your hotel is located on a busy street. These little guys are the difference between no sleep to a good nights rest.

Packable Power Bank

I can not count the amount of times our power bank saved us. You don’t have to hunt down an outlet at the airport or if it’s so cold your phone battery dies faster than you anticipated, the power bank has you covered.

Travel Size Pill Box Organizer

You never know when you’ll get a headache or when that spicy food will hit you. So having this small pill organizer where you can pack a handful of certain medication and carry with you whenever you might need it can make a big difference.

A Little Change Bag

In a lot of countries having cash is a great way to purchase items. Meaning we had a lot of coins and bills floating around and we used a ziplock bag for a little bit, but ended up purchasing a small coin purse to keep extra cash organized. You can find something like this at almost any market you are visiting and it can make a nice souvenir.

Travel pack of Tissues and Hand Sanitizer

Fact: toilet paper and soap are not a guarantee. Having some at hand when traveling can be a game changer.

Packable Tote-bag

We ended up buying a re-usable shopping bag in India and kept using it afterwards. It came in handy multiple times, carrying extra snacks, day pack, rearranging our packing if need be. It is so lightweight, packable, and versatile it is hands down my favorite thing we ended up using.

Travel Size Laundry Detergent

Most place you stay will not offer complementary laundry detergent. Instead of having to buy a big thing of laundry detergent every time you wash clothes, it’s really helpful to have a small travel size of laundry detergent or even detergent sheets.

Universal Adapter

This might feel like a no-brainer, however, on my first international trip I did not realize that not all electric out-lets are the same. Buying a universal one is more bulkier, however, it keeps you from having to keep buying different adapters for every country you are going to visit.

AirTag

Apple came out with a small tracking device, about the size of a quarter.  You can place it in your bag, after you activate it, and it tracks where it is at all times. We never have had to use it to track down a lost bag, but it did give us a lot of peace of mind knowing we could if we needed too.
